Yellow Rose Vegan Bakery & Cafe: Delight in Divine Vegan Treats in Maplewood

Yellow rose is the best! The Homer doughnut is what my fiancé comes home with when he wants to brighten my day. I am personally not fully vegan but have a lot of food allergies/sensitives and yellow rose helps me get my sausage egg and cheese on a bagel fix that I could not otherwise eat. The pop tarts and cinnamon rolls are also top contenders!

Shannon and Monique are absolutely amazing! Monique is so kind and patient with sharing and listening, which is very important. Shannon is so friendly and pleasant. I thank the bakers for providing excellent vegan food and baked goods. The environment is so welcoming. Thank you, ladies!

Yellow rose bakery is my favorite bakery. I live about 45 minutes away, but their food is worth the trip. They have a creative assortment of items that change out daily. I’ve yet to find anything that I do not like and I can be quite picky. As a vegan, one of the things that I missed most was a true fried donut. Yellow Rose donuts are amazing! I’ve also ordered a few cakes for birthday Celebrations and they were absolutely divine! I believe the establishment has a new owner and staff and I can see the improvement of the quality of the products as well as the friendliness of the staff.

I really enjoy Yellow Rose. I stop by as often as possible when I come to visit Maplewood. Their coffee is distinct and delicious, enough that we looked into ordering the same beans for home. I also enjoy the vegan breakfast sandwiches and have liked every pastry I’ve tried thus far. A truly exciting option for plant-based folks. Not just “good for vegan“, it’s just regular ol’ delicious.

My son asked for a cookies and cream NJ Devils Army cake for his 7th birthday. We were floored when we saw how Yellow Rose decorated it, it went above and beyond our expectations and it was so delicious. It was the talk of the party!! Thanks so much for such a perfect cake. It was our first time trying this bakery and when we went in to pickup the cake we tried the mushroom soup, quiche and a peanut butter chocolate layer and everything was very tasty. We will definitely be back.

Super cute spot! Lovely atmosphere. Delicious treats. Came around 12 pm on a weekday and the sandwiches were gone. They recommend ordering in advance and coming in whenever. Tried oreo bomb, biscuit, rose pistachio scone, and ube donut. All were really good!

Not enough words for how amazing this vegan bakery is!!! Been DYING to come here for awhile & finally made the trip! Soooo worth the hype! The cutest, most adorable, full of allll the good vibes vegan bakery with the most delicious vegan baked goods! I placed an online order & it was all packaged to go! What we got: Rainbow poptart- super adorable rain pride! Delicious crust & fun rainbow filled! PB cookie- it was HUGE! Super moist! Flavorful. Melt in your mouth stuff with actual peanut butter. It was so massive it took a couple rounds to fully finish it. Rainbow donut- super moist! Dense! Sweetness was perfected with the frosting! Seriously, amazing treats here! Vegan or not- Yellow Rose has delicious baked goods of all sorts! They also do amazing breakfast sandwiches! I got a tofu & cheese on a biscuit to go (not pictured) which was just as fresh & amazing as the baked goods we got to go! Love that they change up the menu often & offer new treats all the time to try! I wish I was closer otherwise I’d LIVE here!

It may have just been today since I know they were slammed with thanksgiving, though I was disappointed with the burned flavor. I got the crème brûlée donut and I know you torch sugar for that but the flavor of burnt was overpowering. The filling on the inside was not especially sweet which was sad since the dough wasn't either. Similarly, the bottom of my croissant was a little burnt but I pulled off the bottom and it was great otherwise! I thought the plain glazed donut was very good and doughy, unlike any other vegan donut I have had. I really liked the egg/cheese/sausage bagel (the bagel is more so a chewy roll but I really enjoyed nonetheless). Great atmosphere and great staff. Fair pricing
